On Memorial Day, 2019, the Hamilton West Football Program and Hamilton West Booster Club announced the creation of a scholarship in honor of our American Hero, Jarred Crowley.

We are proud to announce that the Airman First Class [A1C] Jarred "Quick" Crowley Scholarship will be awarded to graduating senior football players from the Hamilton West Class of 2020. All of us who know Jarred know how much he loved West football, loved his teammates and friends, and loved people and life in general.

Born January 23, 1985 in Trenton, Jarred graduated from Hamilton West in 2003. He was awarded the Freshman MVP (2000), was a 3-Year Varsity Basketball and Football player; won the Hornet Varsity Athletic MIP Award (2003) and was Senior Year Homecoming and Prom King (2002-2003).

After Graduating from Hamilton West, Jarred attended Kean University where he excelled in football and was the recipient of Kean University's Football "Big 'Kat' Award" (2005). Jarred also played football with many associations including the Middlesex Vikings.

Jarred enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 2, 2009 and was selected as the Student Leader for his class earning "Red Rope" status. Following graduation, he achieved the rank of Airman First Class and was assigned to the 8th Security Forces Squadron at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea. Tragically, Jarred died on March 17, 2010 at the age of 25 due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

The student-athletes eligible to earn this scholarship were required to write essays regarding the life lessons learned through the sport of football and how the Hamilton West Football Program influenced their lives. A committee will choose the award recipients and will look for essays that honor and embody Quick's spirit and characteristics that make him so special to us all.

We are thankful to have the blessing of the Crowley family, and they were and will be involved in every step of this process.

Thank you all in advance for your support, thank you to the Crowley family, and thank you Jarred for inspiring so many of us to be better people.

If you would like to make a donation to the AFC Jarred "Quick" Crowley Scholarship, please contact Coach Papero directly at mpapero@htsdnj.org

We could all use Quick's smile right about now,and this scholarship is just one more way that we will keep his name and legacy alive.

Sincerely,

Michael V. Papero
